“I am writing in regards to my amazing experience with EAC. I collect benefits and I had been sanctioned because I did not comply with the Department of Labor. Just when I was losing hope I got a phone call from Pam DiLorenzo from the Sanctions Intervention Project. She phoned me telling me about a position at an imaging company. When I went for my first interview at the company, I got hired on the spot. I then had my training in Manhattan and the rest is history. When meeting with Pam she was pleasant, informative and willing to go the extra mile to guide me down the path to start making my life better. The EAC team succeeded. Although the position is part-time I have high hopes that I will be offered a full-time position. I can only hope another man or woman can have the same luck I had. EAC is a great program and I have no regrets.”
- C.C., a client of the Sanctions Intervention Project (Editors note: as of 5/7/12, C.C. has been offered the full-time position.)
The Sanctions Intervention Project re-engages individuals who are non-compliant with Department of Social Services. A highly trained, motivational staff, interviews, assesses and refers individuals through a process of appointments until compliance is met and benefits are fully restored. Communication, education, case management & individual community resources play an important role towards the goal of self sufficiency. This award winning program serves the TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) population throughout Suffolk County. Once clients demonstrate compliance by keeping these scheduled appointments, benefits & services can be fully restored.
“Without this program I would still be spinning in circles” – L.B.
“I feel this was helpful because I really did not understand what was going on with my case. I now know what things are and what I have to do to remain in compliance.” – R.S.
”I was happy to deal with people who cared and really wanted to help me. It was greatly appreciated.” – M.D.
