  EMPLOYMENT READINESS INITIATIVE
The purpose of the Employment Readiness Initiative Program (ERI) is to provide direct vocational and supportive services to homeless individuals in Nassau County to assist them in reaching their goals towards economic self-sufficiency.


EMPLOYMENT SHUTTLE PROGRAM
The Employment Shuttle Program provides transportation for individuals in select emergency shelter locations in Suffolk County to employment, educational/vocational training, job readiness training, Department of Labor appointments, job interviews, job fairs and child care (in conjunction with employment related activity).


ENHANCED EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE
The Enhanced Employment Initiative Program (EEI) is a vocational program designed to provide court mandated clients, with employment placement and other transitional services, that way assisting defendants and their family gain financial security and independence, and maintain childcare support to their children.

EDUCATION, REHABILITATION & SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM (ERASE)
ERASE is an alternative sentencing program used by the Family Court for persons in violation of court-ordered child support. The program's primary goal is to increase child support collections. It is used for individuals who are unemployed, self-employed, or work "off the books", and are therefore not subject to wage withholding or other standard means of collection.

FAMILY CONNECTIONS PROJECT
The Family Connections Project is intended to help reunify families where parental problems have resulted in recent placement of children in DSS care.

FAMILY COURT ADVOCATE PROGRAM
The Family Court Advocate Program provides the court with trained volunteers who investigate, monitor and report to the court on the status of individual children in foster care. Assigned by a Family Court Judge, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers represent "the best interests of a child" and work to ensure that children receive the services they need with a goal of achieving a permanent home for the children to whom they are assigned. The Family Court Advocate Program has been in operation since 1987.

FAMILY COURT TASC
The Long Island Family Court TASC Programs are intervention and prevention programs which bring services to individuals appearing in Family Court who are substance abusers. TASC identifies the level of addiction, makes a referral to an appropriate treatment agency, and monitors treatment progress for the Court. EAC has operated TASC programs in the metropolitan area since 1978.

FAMILY TREATMENT COURTS
The goal of the Family Treatment Court is to promote the rehabilitation of neglectful substance-abusing parents, the preservation or reunification of their families and/or permanency for their children. The Family Treatment Court was first implemented in December of 1997 in Suffolk County as a result of the overwhelming numbers of parents who appear before the Court on Neglect petitions due to substance abuse. These parents are directed to drug treatment by case managers who monitor their treatment progress. Child welfare and service issues are handled by Child Protective Service workers and case managers. Progress of both parents and children is reported directly to the Court.

FOOD & NUTRITION SERVICES
The Food & Nutirtion Services program for persons living with HIV+/AIDS, provides home-bound individuals with HIV+/AIDS with high caloric, high nutrition hot and cold meals daily. Eligible individuals live in the Hempstead, Westbury and New Cassel communities. Dependent children are also fed through the program, which has been in operation since 1992.

HEMPSTEAD SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER
The Hempstead Senior Community Service Center provides senior citizens from the Hempstead, Uniondale, Lakeview and West Hempstead area with a daily hot lunch and a wide range of activities. Transportation is provided to and from the Center. Field trips to other centers and to area museums, beaches and places of interest are also part of the program's schedule. EAC has administered the Hempstead Community Service Center since 1992.

HIV PREVENTION INITIATIVE
Responding to the fact that substance abuse carries an increased risk of HIV infection, this TASC program offers strategies to prevent infection to reduce high-risk behaviors and substance abuse, as well as to improve practices that reduce HIV transmission..

HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) assists low-income households meet the high cost of home energy and utility expenses. Over 2,700 clients are served annually. EAC has been administering the HEAP Program since 1991.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES & BASIC SKILLS PROGRAM (JOBS)
The goal of the JOBS Program is to help Nassau County public assistance recipients gain the skills necessary to become employed and self-sufficient. JOBS was developed in 1991 as part of a New York State Welfare-to-Work initiative. Over 7,000 individuals have been helped by JOBS since 1991.

INTERVENTION & CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The purpose of the Intervention & Career Development Program is to provide the vocational tools and soft skills necessary for both current and former gang members to become economically self-sufficient through positive life style changes.

LONG ISLAND LEARNING CENTERS
The purpose of EAC's Learning Centers it to help junior and senior high schools students who cannot function in a regular school environment obtain the necessary education which will make it possible for them to graduate from high school. EAC's first program, the Long Island Learning Centers have been serving learning disabled and emotionally disturbed students since 1971.
