Purpose: The Queens TASC Mental Health Diversion Program is designed to accurately assess, refer to treatment and monitor progress of mentally ill individuals in the Queens criminal justice system. Working in collaboration with the District Attorney’s office and the Mental Health Court, EAC staff provide an in-depth diagnostic evaluation of the defendant and identify appropriate treatment resources that can meet the needs of the offender. The Queens program is modeled after EAC’s successful Bronx Mental Health Court Program.
