Purpose: The EAC Meals-on-Wheels Program provides senior citizens from the Westbury, Carle Place and New Cassel communities with home-delivered hot and cold meals daily. The EAC Meals-on-Wheels Program has been in operation since 1990.

Description: EAC Meals-on-Wheels reaches home-bound elderly individuals, providing them with a hot and cold meal for each weekday, and supplemental food for weekends.
Meals are delivered directly to homes in the Westbury, New Cassel and Carle Place community. When home-bound elderly have pets, delivery also includes free pet food. Menus are planned by a nutritionist to guarantee that nutrition and special dietary needs are met.
Through Meals-on-Wheels, many of our most vulnerable seniors now see a friendly face each day, as our driver pauses to chat and make sure everything is all right. Special attention is paid to birthdays and holidays, when staff deliver birthday cakes and items such as holiday fruit baskets.

Funding: Program funding is provided by the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs.
