Purpose: The Hempstead Senior Community Service Center provides senior citizens from the Hempstead, Uniondale, Lakeview and West Hempstead area with a daily hot lunch and a wide range of activities. Transportation is provided to and from the Center. Field trips to other centers and to area museums, beaches and places of interest are also part of the program's schedule. EAC has administered the Hempstead Community Service Center since 1992.

Description: The purpose of the Hempstead Senior Community Service Center is to provide senior citizens with the opportunity to come together, enjoy a meal with friends and participate in a range of activities. Arts & crafts, wellness information, health screening, dance, exercise and intergenerational programs are incorporated into daily life at the Center.
Transportation to and from the Center is provided on a daily basis, and includes busses with handicapped accessibility. Seniors are able to engage in social activities and achieve a sense of community with others, relieving them of the isolation which is too often a part of our senior citizens' lives. The Hempstead Senior Community Service Center is open daily from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Funding: Program funding is provided by the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs.
