Purpose: The Employment Shuttle Program provides transportation for individuals to access and/or maintain employment, child care (in conjunction with employment related activity) and work preparation activities. (Activities may include but not be limited to employment interviews, employment trainings, job fairs and drug screenings for employment purposes.) In order to be eligible for this transportation service, a person must receive TANF or SN-MOE services through the Suffolk County Department of Social Services.

Description: The goal of the program is to enable individuals to get or maintain employment; to help identify barriers for individuals who are already employed, however not meeting the Suffolk County Department of Social Services weekly participation rate requirements. Transportation assistance may be provided for up to a period of 6 months. The Suffolk County Department of Social Services and the Suffolk County Department of Labor identify and refer eligible individuals. Transportation services are available Monday-Sunday.
